The legendary Justin Hinds passed Born on the 7th May 1942, in Steertown, St Ann, Jamaica. He was an early pioneer of Ska, having been discovered and recorded for Duke Reid in 1964 for his Treasure Isle label. His first record was Carry Go Bring Come as Justin Hinds and the Dominoes (Dennis Sinclair and Junior Dixon). Hinds had a pure tenor voice that would rise above the unison vocals of the Dominoes. They went on to record many fine records including, Rub Up, Push Up, Peace and Love, Corner Stone, Higher The Monkey Climbs, The Ark, Botheration and No Good Rudie. Justin recorded two albums for Chris Blackwell's Island records in the mid-seventies. He is survived by his wife, Peaches, and three sons, 7/5/1942 - 15/3/2005 |
